Carlos Pinto, was born in Lisbon in 1974.

Since his early days was interested for the effect of the light and the color in everything that surround him. After one brief ticket for “a traditional” Hi degree in the University, opted to making the photograph course in the Ar.Co, betting in a riskier but also more compensating career the personal level.

Uniting the passion for the photograph to the pleasure of surfing, that he practiced since its 12 years, made him developing the technique to capture this sport in film, having initiated in 1996 a contribution with the magazine Surf Portugal that ended in 2005. He than signed with ONFIRE Surf Mag and ONSK8 Mag has senior staff photographer.
Later that year, he joined Europe’s leading magazine, Surf Europe, as one of the 4 staff photographers.

The continuous search for the perfection and quality, looking always to go beyond in the search of the true spirit of surfing, he started to shoot in water. Since the first time he tried, he knew, that this was his path. Actually, he distinguishes himself with a vast collection of truly unique moments.

Beyond his regular publications at OnFire Mag and SurfEurop, he’s still an assiduous contributing photographer for European Mags such as Surf Session (France), Beach Brother, Tres60 (Spain), Surfer Rule (Spain), Surfers (Germany), Tide (Germany), Huck (England).
O’Neill, has led him to the four “corners” of the world, from the Maldives to Scotland, Australia to Tahiti. Aside remark of this, the immaculate passion to his sport/lifestyle took him to travel the five continents of the globe. These are these trips that, in a fatigue compound homesickness, thrill and enthusiasm, have proportionate extraordinary moments to it and the compensation that initially inhaled to get.

In 2006, after a long period of partnership, he joined Despomar Group. Leading Portugal company witch represents, Billabong, Dakine, ESS, Excell, Kustom, Nixon, and Von Zipper as official photographer. Since day one, he was thrilled being able to work as a team in a variety of projects.

The interests beyond surf, allies to the photography, had taken him to establish and founding in 2001 the Blink Studio – Photography and Advertising, through which he have come to carry innumerable advertising campaigns, being through it that he also keeps a contribution with the magazine Men’s Health.

The diversification became one of his great qualities. Either photographing in studio a fashion production or in any street photographing skate, his ability “playing” with light and flashes became a kind of presentation card. Producing images of character unique, and notable visual effect.
