You move furniture, lights, tripods and all the gear you can possibly imagine so that out of the sudden, someone (or various “someone”) decide that you’re going to be away for, hummm, let’s say, 3 months.

Still, you have time to enjoy a couple good moments in between gigs or absences, and maybe, turn them special..

I’m a flash photographer.
Not that I don’t know that for far too long, but the more time passes the more I convince myself of that.

Every time I’m on commission, would be a portrait, an advertising shot, or a “mere” reportage, I’m always looking were the light falls of, and where and how the hell I’m gonna light it.

Would it be an Octa on a boom stand a Beauty dish, or my tiny portable Quantum handheld (I know, I look ridiculous walking around with a lamp in my hands), in my mind all that goes is ratio equations – available light/flash related.

For all of those who understood squat of what I just said, you got images to check:)

Don't mind this Tasmanian Landscape.... I've felt totally Schooled after watching what you're about to see.

One of my favorite subjects to shoot, beyond Portraiture and water, for sure is landscapes.

Morning routine, on a overcast, blown-out-wind-waves, bored to death, I just web cruise on my favorite artist out there, and guess what!?

While reading Vincent Laforet’s Blog, I’ve bumped into this. Tom Lowe last project: TimeScapes.

You tell me if it’s not one of the craziest things you’ve ever seen!?!?

Silence was needed. I’m not saying this to somehow absolve my dearself of the total absence of blogposts.

How long has it been!? 6 months?! Jeeezzzzzz that’s a while, to out of nowhere I just felt like writing a couple letters. Thanks to whom you not might ask!?

To this respectful Sir, and his incredible ability to communicate by any means he has in hands, would that be a photo camera, an HD camera (maybe they’re the same by now) a microphone or just by his simple being as a hard worker he is.

It’s too much inspiring seeing examples like him, and how hard he pushes one of the things I love the most – Photography.

I thank him for getting me back on track, and to somehow, revival this blog.

Kikas acting Modern Collective, en Français c'est plus finesse.

Last time i remember watching a surf video till the end I was in the University (yeah, I did a bit of that). Momentum was the name, and also the beginning of now famous director Taylor Steele.

By the time, I was complete obsessed with the footage and action rhythm. To my eyes, Momentum was showing a level of surfing completely out of this world. I now feel petty for my flat mates, who, by the way, didn’t surf and had to watch over and over again the same bullshit…

Payback, can take time, but sooner or later stops by… Happen to me during this one.

Had the opportunity on this trip to be smashed (didn’t have that much of an option) day after day with the newest movie sensation – Modern Collective. Featuring 5 of the most progressive surfers of our time.

In between, some 15 years passed. But all this Mambo Jumbo it’s just to get to this conclusion. Beyond the vanguard images that both of this movies had/have, both soundtracks were amazing. Specially Modern Collective.
If it wasn’t for it, I probably wouldn’t discover tunes such as this, this and the unreal remix of this .

I don’t really know how much time will I spend without watching a surf movie, but surely this tunes will be on my headphones for quite while.

101 days, 2424 hours, 145440 minutes, 46400 air miles, 8000 land miles, 4 Countries, 7 cities, 100 beaches, 1001 adventures, 3981 smiles, 7430 laughs, 5 discussions, 2/4 bad days (on the positive side), 40 new white airs gained on my scalp, 70 days of small waves, 3 stoked grommets, a couple good results, a couple good images, a couple not so good results, a couple not so good images after, the trip is coming to an end.

I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel as I’m in LAX waiting for the flight back home..
Gotta admit it was a really demanding road this one. It’s not an easy task playing Big brother role all the time, nevertheless I would do it again as it was one hell of a joy to see how these 3 grommets improved during this time.

Happy to be part of that process, happy to see how fresh life is at the age of 15/18 and being able to do what you love most…
Not that I consider myself bald and fat (yet), but surely I’m not a teenager anymore.

So this goes for all three of you (Nic, Kiko, Vasco)… Like someone kept saying over and over again…

Maybe it’s just me.

Maybe it’s because M83 melancholic sound, maybe it’s because I’m missing my sys birthday today, maybe it’s because I miss home, maybe it’s because I’ve been on the road for 3 and half months now…

Time passes in a odd way when you’re away. Sometimes flies, sometimes every second seems an eternity…
Wish I was in another place today, wish I could be with you all, celebrating the birth of my beloved sister.
Wish I could be there with you.

If I could, I would run towards till my strength reached an end…
